Strange Weather

Weird weather and crop failure

If you are a regular viewer to my channel you will have seen a number of videos where I have talked about weird weather such as excessive rains, droughts and also diseases or pests, which have been destroying the food production system in different parts of the world.

You will also have seen my videos outlining my experiences as I experiment with gaining the skills necessary to produce my own food after a SHTF event.

Well, here in the UK, I am experiencing my own weird weather and crop failures and while I appreciate it is not on quite the same scale as the major events I usually discuss in my videos, I thought I would share it with you, as there is a lesson there to be learned

I also cover one of the main topics of this video in greater detail in one of my previous videos – “Food Crisis in 2019 ? (It’s not due to BREXIT)”

My goodness, you DID get hit with some infestation there. You still have growth there, so that's a good thing. Make a note, beans and peas do well for you. : )

Great video. Here in Australia, when we have a long dry, hot spell, it's always followed by a storm, including hail. Last year I had to have the roof of my car cut off and renewed it was that that badly damaged by hailstones. Wish I could grow veggies. I only have to look at a plant and it instantly dies. Except the weeds of course.

I found several small bugs on the leaves of my potato plants. I pulled the leaves that had the bugs on them and exterminated them underfoot. Blossoms are starting to form on my potato plants. My early girl variety tomatoes are coming along nicely.  They're grape sized so far.  Only two apples are on my two Jonathan apple trees. Most of the apple blossoms fell off in a late frost.  Huckleberries are now ripe, growing wild around my cabin. I hope to get as many as I can before the bears do. Hot and humid here too in the deep, dark forest of Northern Michigan, U.S.A.

Best off with a pollytunnel/greenhouse to help against pest control. And you can plant well into the winter months as well.also try out hydroponic systems with a solar self watering system it's clean .quicker. and soilles.
