They almost got me: I saw this clip on German TV (NTV; "Nicht von dieser Welt") while zapping around, and was almost ready to believe its authenticity, scratching my head in wonder. But the overall making of this 'show' was clearly unprofessional and just attention grabbing, like W.Shatner's 'documentaries' based on Erich v.Däniken's wild phantasies. All talk, almost no science, just speculation and even 'open end' scenarios without solutions, leaving the watcher in the dark. WTF? The unique color pattern and touted 'locale' (Japan) quickly revealed the fakery: all shown footage of the cloud are stills, not videos, with shaking added to create a live effect. The 'cloud' has the same color schema as Mount Fuji with its white snow covered top. Comparing photos of the real mountain with a re-sized copy of this 'cloud' – squeezing it vertically – shows what was done here. Being the ONLY published clip proves its fake authenticity. Had it been real, other passengers and the pilots would have recorded it as well. Duck test conducted, duck test passed – fake! It is sad to see that TV stations and TV channels bamboozle their audience with such crap. Bad enough that Russians are meddling with Western elections, trolling the internet, disinform with their polemic RussiaToday broadcasts worldwide. Now even the once trustworthy Western TV channels (Weather Channel, Discovery, TLC, NTV ..) broadcast this nonsense as 'click bait' for mere profit, undermining their own credibility. One more channel to remove from my station list on TV.
