It would help if the speakers did not confuse hypothermia and hyperthermia

I'm curious how much this will accelerate mountain snow melt and the resulting floods.

It's amazing how the US has a coast on their north that is an exactly perfect straight line. I mean, that would be the only reason that all but one of the maps showed nothing north of that line, right? The center of the hot system isn't even in the US, but you couldn't be bothered to mention BC (or even just be vague and say Canada).

In Summer 2019 – 2020, Sydney Australia had reached 50.7 degrees Centigrade.
The road tar and shoes were melting. Hotter than the Sahara desert Midday.
It is a good day for sun bathing, surf, beach, local watering hole and drink shit load of cold cold beers and water.
But make sure you have applied sun screen lotion. Slip, Slap, Slop… Otherwise you will be redder than a very cooked lobster.

Ca grows roughly half of ALL US produce. It’s the 5th largest economy in the world. Can you imagine the blow the US as a whole would take if CA is plagued with extreme drought, massive wildfires, intense heat waves and can no longer grow crops? This is bad.

The black communities are trying to get high speed rail through the cotton belt South Carolina to Dallas TX. Joe Biden has a transportation bill he needs to include this in his transportation bill that would cut down on carbon emissions tremendously.

They keep giving us pessimistic forecasts for 50-100 years. We will see mass extinctions long before then. We are dealing in months to 2-3 years in seeing heatwaves lead to brownouts and failures of electric grids that kill the sick and elderly. Will this summer be the game changer?

How long till conservatives pivot from Climate Change is fake to only we can solve it ?

ADVICE FROM EUROPE where we don't use AC very much but its 120F here in summer
1) keep the curtains closed all day
2) Afternoon open downstairs window and furthest opposite upstairs window the heat will chimney air through the house
3) DO NOT go out between 12 and 4pm, when you do COVER ALL SKIN with linen and wear a hat
4) Get cold showers every 2 hours
5) Obviously take water with you if you go out but also take a plant sprayer of water with you to spray head and face
6) Walk in the shadow of the buildings
7) Walk pets after dark – it WILL blister their feet
8) SLOW DOWN, stop living the American life and live it at 1/3rd speed
9) Don't eat a lot, it will make you feel terrible
10) Cut out sugar from your diet in all forms. This is going to be a REGULAR thing you will have to deal with and its a LOT easier if you are THIN…!!!

Daniel Orozco July 1, 2021 at 9:48 am

100.4 degrees in the Siberia. 64.9 degrees in Antarctica. 90 degrees in Anchorage. 5 feet of snow in Mexico. All this happened in the last two years. And now this past Sunday, Western Canada reached 115.8 degrees! It was hotter in Canada than in Dubai! Something is definitely going on. And the first rule of public safety is: Keep the public ignorant of what's really going on. ✌️

Rachelle Arnot July 1, 2021 at 11:00 am

I live in Spokane, Washington we have rolling blackouts, and Tuesday temps reached 112 degrees. It’s absolute misery. It’s so hot .

Porcelina's Ocean July 2, 2021 at 10:04 pm

5 yrs ago I moved to OR from FL. It was so hot that I only spent one full summer before moving as close to the ocean as possible, bc the OR coast is dramatically cooler than the rest of state in summer and more mild in winter- BUT u have to be Right ON the coast to benefit- go even 3 miles inland and u lose the advantage. And housing is extremely limited and overpriced (even relative to this economy).
So I'm very lucky but all these terrible stories about wild, homeless and domestic animals suffering so terribly and hundreds of human deaths just in one area in a matter of a couple days is heartbreaking… And It's a TERRIFYING sign of things to come.

T D July 3, 2021 at 6:38 pm

I've been in the PNW since the 50's and there has never been anything like this. The weather has drastically changed here, it's not just this event.
Triple digit heat for days, 109 degrees F in my town.
