The Deadliest Earthquake In History That No One Talks About

Earthquakes are bad. Over the course of human history, untold lives have been lost due to devastating earthquakes. Perhaps most frightening of all, scientists still haven’t yet figured out a way to predict earthquakes, making them in many ways the most dangerous of all natural disasters.

But while some earthquakes are famous, like the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, the Great Chilean Earthquake of 1960, and the Indian Ocean Earthquake of 2004, the biggest tragedy in history has been almost forgotten: the Shaanxi Earthquake of 1556, which killed over 800,000 people. This is the deadliest earthquake in history that no one talks about.

I was never aware of these earthquakes. Thank you so much for sharing that information.

Tony Reynolds September 21, 2021 at 10:27 pm

Since I live in the Missouri Ozarks I am much more conscious of the New Madrid fault. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

vox漢 September 22, 2021 at 12:19 am

the earthquake in Melbourne is a 5.6 magnitude which will not effect alot it will just slightly damage structures and might knock down a few trees that's all.

SEBlaze September 22, 2021 at 12:23 am

How ironic…

Random September 22, 2021 at 12:39 am

1964 Alaska earthquake was 9.2…more then what has been mentioned here. You can't earthquake proof any structure if the ground opens up under a building.

Chloe Alford September 22, 2021 at 12:58 am

I love how australians collectively are here rn cause of the recent earthquake in melb and further hahahha

Kevin Flesch September 22, 2021 at 1:06 am

Maz 169 September 22, 2021 at 1:22 am

The irony of this video! Felt an earthquake in Melbourne about an hour ago. I’m sure you’re all aware

Julia Naylor September 22, 2021 at 2:48 am

Best wishes and regards to the Australians who just had the largest earthquake, since records started in the late 19th century. 😞❤️

Julia Naylor September 22, 2021 at 2:49 am

This earthquake is probably not mentioned, because it was too horrific to contemplate.😢

Jody Golden September 22, 2021 at 2:55 am

Try living through a 9.5 – Northridge earthquake in California in 1995. Got thrown literally out of bed at 4:30 in the morning. Didn't stop shaking for what felt like for 30 minutes. Not a. Exaggeration. Thought the house was going to cave in.

IK September 22, 2021 at 3:33 am

So many Australians here lmao

M. F. Richardson September 22, 2021 at 4:30 am

Thank you💕🇺🇸

There was an earthquake this morning in Victoria occurring at 9:15am local time and was a 6.0 magnitude quake. It was one of the scariest things I have been through in my life. Thank god there have not been any casualties but there was some damage to a business on Chapel St in Melbourne's CBD. I hope everyone is okay.

Grunge September 22, 2021 at 1:44 pm

Have you ever experienced an earthquake? What was it like?

ShalomNtube777 September 22, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Just uploaded a video on a similar theme. The lord gave me a vision of the days of Pharoah about to hit the earth (death, plagues, pestilences…) and the antichrist being at the door! Literally! Things are only going to get worst! Only those who are sealed by God and who take refuge in God through Yahushua would be SPARED. I pray that many will escape this hour of trial in Yahushua Jesus mighty name!! I pray we are translated to CHRIST before all this unravels. Amein!! MARANATHA 🔥

Johnny Azer September 22, 2021 at 7:25 pm

too bad they could not make antigravity foundations where if a disaster came along you could crank of the big machine. Also since hurricanes form in the S.Atlantic, why could not little winds going in the opposite direction, slow them down right from birth if a satellite could pin point the spots.

New Madrid fault, in the boot heel of Missouri. We in the area may all be doomed. Geological records indicate that a devastating earthquake occurs every 150 years, give or take a decade or two. The series in 1811-1812 would, by modern estimates, have equaled a 9.0 or possible worse. The Mississippi River flowed backwards for some time afterwards. Fortunately, the area then was sparsely populated. Not so now.

capmidnite September 25, 2021 at 12:28 pm

I always wondered . . . what if a dentist or surgeon is in the middle of a delicate procedure and an earthquake strikes?

S. E. C-R September 25, 2021 at 6:59 pm

My biggest fear is earthquakes, right behind snakes!

Nancy Montgomery September 29, 2021 at 11:10 am

In 1811 there was an 8.2 earthquake of the New Madrid fault line in Missouri. The Mississippi River flowed backward and then changed its course! Scientists say we are likely due for another. The scary part is that the fault line leads right up to a nuclear reactor! The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency warned that another serious earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone could result in the highest losses due to a natural disaster in the United States.
