JK is correct about Barrett to 6. I have worked on Irish rugby coverage for over 20 years and have also seen all the French games in the European Cup and Top 14. My take on things, is that all nations are now playing a quick ruck game if they can, but when the French teams come up against the Irish in particular as they proved last weekend in Dublin, they just find that extra bit of physicality to their game, they select the big men. New Zealand need to select a big middle five for the WC. The All Blacks will always compete well in the front row, and with the incumbants in the second-row for Sept the All Blacks are ok there as well. So the backrow composition remains uncertain even at this stage, by having Barrett play more at 6 for the Championship would give the ABs more physicality at the breakdown and height in the lineout. I can tell you this for certain, the South Africans, French and Ireland will all have big strong ball carrying 6's in their starting team. In fact by the time Ireland get to the world cup, Ryan Baird, who is a big man could well be in their starting backrow for those big matches, simply due to his extra height, bulk and ability to get over the gainline.
18:22 I can remember a time when former ALL BLACKS would look at the competition ahead of them and say 'Bring It On' … but now, they are talking about teams avoiding each other to take an easier route. Also the issue with Levi Aumua … his choice is his choice. He wants to be and has always wanted to be an ALL BLACK. To force him to want to play for a nation he doesn't want to is the downside for any players future. Samoan Rugby has had it's chances, to get elite players and they did, but 2011 remains the reason why Samoan Rugby will never attract players because of the bullsh*t they were exposed to be doing.
Bruh, the first time they mention slub rugby from outside of europe they manage to twist it and make it about international tests. "oh this is how ireland and france are gonna play" mate who cares??? Club rugby should discussed not as a means to and end (the international tests). It should be the end itself.
You guys treat Super Rugby in the same manner. If a player is doing good (Narawa for example), it's not because he wants his team to win Super Rugby, it's because he wants that black shirt.
This undermines club rugby and that's why the french just do it better, there is more fan engagement in the top14 than in any other league because the competition is not some training ground for the NT, the competition is at the same level as the NT and that's beautiful.
Leinster are very close to being the Irish team, No doubt….but La Rochelle are very far from being France or even having a 'French Style'. That's far too simplistic.
The Chiefs look like they're running out of steam, but are still 11/12. Hurricanes scored two against the run of play but suffered with Morgan having a stinker of a game at first five with no cover on the bench. I'm not sure if Godfrey was injured but he would've been handy to have come on.
Ireland and France been predictable, JK, did he even watch a minute of the heineken cup final, I'll give you Leinster make up most of Irish team but come on man, I get you didn't watch the match but just take a quick look at the team sheet, lazy effort at work, plus, La Rochelle changed their game plan during the match at least 3 times. What will it take for him to realize NZ are miles behind some other nations right now, Super rugby while entertaining is so poor quality wise and tactically
Pacific is bigger than Samoa and Tonga, first thing Moana Pacifica has to do is to drop the Pacifica name in the team. Find its true identify from the islands of Samoa and Tonga.
Might be late to ask, but can the team breakdown the ladder, this year compared to the same time last year….the top is somewhat unchanged, but the bottom half seems to show the growth in the competition; with the exception of MP ( they’ve had close matches and are competitive. Just been unlucky closing out the final minutes- Vinakavakalevu

The commentator in that Champions Cup final said Leinster had also rested some of their best players since April to prime them for that final.
8:33 Mils's comment about 3 nations had me frantically searching the web for SA's position this year……surely he mean't to say 4…….
beautiful clip with Ben Smith!
Chiefs played the conditions and the Hurricanes didn't and they took advantage of the mistakes that was made
Ben Smith showing that being an All Black great never stops; until the 'grass-roots' are growing over you. What a bloody good man he is.
I think the wingers selection is the biggest conundrum for the selectors… Clarke and Talea are both having a VERY average season…..
Bad strategy by Hurricanes
