This year’s Ames Moot Court Competition teams sparred over Article III judicial power in the hypothetical case, Ames County Board of Commissioners v. Energon U.S.A.

This year’s presiding judges were Sri Srinivasan of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; Britt Grant of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; and Rowan Wilson ’84 of the New York Court of Appeals.

The Ames Moot Court Competition is one of the most prestigious competitions for appellate brief writing and advocacy in the country. The students participating in the Final Round started the competition in fall of their 2L year. Two teams progressed to the Final Round through their strong research abilities and excellent written and oral advocacy.
