If they're having this much trouble with a category 2 storm I would hate to see the response after a category 4 much less a 5
Not to mention the type of damage you could have if they got hit with a EF 3 or 4 tornado, with a long ground track. And as far as walking in a downtown area like Central London with gust 70 +… you are not a kite you are not designed to fly. Apparently no one has explained the " Monroe " effect of structures and wind to office workers ., and if they did they weren't paying attention to it evidently

πŸ˜•Thick people who go too near raging seas for the fun of it when even professional fishermen who need to be be at sea to make a not well living won't go out in it. Too easy to be swept away. Yet landlubber fools stand where they and sometimes are swept away. All it takes is for a surge. A freak wave. Or be blown into the briney straight to Dalvey Jones locker πŸ˜’

Europe is very lucky that it doesn't get – at least yet – storms of the strength of hurricanes / typhoons / cyclones that are so catastrophic in other places in the world.

Sali Younis February 22, 2022 at 7:48 pm

Every year the weather gets worse and worse and still, the corporate media won't talk about climate change..looks like I am going to live long enough to see everything go to heck.
Also if you are a climate change denier don't bother talking to me I won't waste my time arguing with the mentally handicapped.

In Cornwall it just felt like another storm. We get them pretty badly in the north coast quite frequently. Sad to hear about the loss of lives.

The propaganda has to go on: A person in the midst of a storm …with that useless symbolic mask. Insane.

Maybe we should all vote for the Green Party. They seem to have some good policies. Practical & forward looking.

I live near New York area US. I volunteer as a storm spotter for our NWS. Anyone who denies climate change is insane. In 2012 We had Hurricane Sandy which was almost catastrophic. I live in Greenwich, Connecticut and most coastal homes were damaged and or destroyed.

Lolyeah Right February 27, 2022 at 6:26 am

It was not even that bad a bit windy that’s all my fence did not even get blown down

My friend had her house damaged, the wall under window ca Ed in and she was close to the window she was lucky, and all the other windows in her house went through that was one mean storm. I saw our neighbour attempting to drive in that crazy storm,he hadn’t even got as far as the drive and reversed back to safety wasn’t taking no chances. Feel so sorry for those lives lost and homes damaged,we can rebuild homes we can’t rebuild our lives back, love each other
