LA, I've done done heavy dirt work commercially.
Most dirt work compacts itself by gravity just fine when piled high. That's exactly how it's done with very deep fills like in overpasses. It is overfilled quickly with machines today and some time is allowed to pass and the level drops and stabilizes and in moister climates weeds grow quickly on the sides helping to prevent erosion. It is called surcharging a site. They add a significant load on top of the existing soils using the weight of the additional soils they bring in to compress the existing soils below. It only works for specific soils. Once grass is established there erosion is not a problem.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a ufo, but Elon musks satellites was scary. I even start running to my car and praying to God.
It wasn't just a tornado in South Jersey. It was a huge tornadoe. It hit my home town of Mantua. The strange thing is that it hit three major farms in Mullica Hill and literally destroyed them.
Give it a month or two and the weather will get even stranger L.A. Marzulli! 🙂
