Extreme weather thrashes parts of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia



An atmospheric river brought extreme weather to Atlantic Canada, washing out parts of the Trans-Canada Highway and cutting off Port-Aux-Basques, N.L., in both directions. The heavy rain also washed out roads in eastern Nova Scotia, with officials warning it could take weeks to get things back to normal in parts of Cape Breton.
