You can buy large trees that grow fast…it doesn't take very long to grow a shade tree. Zelkovas, Red Maples etc.

Richard Yuen August 7, 2023 at 2:36 pm

Too late to plant any trees these days. Should have thought about it 30 years ago. Humans always wait till disaster strikes and then take things more seriously. They don't want to plan and build better infrastructures.

Beth Moore-Love August 7, 2023 at 2:43 pm

We need to stop building everything for cars instead of life.

This is God’s way of punishing an evil country.

I am just shaking my head at the stupidity. Wow let’s plant a tree. I live in an apartment complex in Dallas and there are no trees zero

Subliminal message…….quick everyone, pay more taxes and walk to work!!!!!

Beezy's Beatz August 7, 2023 at 3:11 pm

2:11 …..she really doesn't know does she. I feel like she is skating on thin ice ethically to pass on disinformation about "too little too late" "how long does it take for a tree to grow" Her millenial level knowledge and patience are showing.😅 "We're almost out of time to turn these cities around"? Why is that exactly. Is she referring to CLIMATE CHANGE? Yeah summer's almost over so the climates will start to cool down. Dangerous rhetoric out of this "journalist".

jmmanuel Seale August 7, 2023 at 3:22 pm

lets go hike in this lovely heat….smh…please..i guess she did not love her life

z August 7, 2023 at 3:24 pm

Like it or not, we're going to have to change the way we live.

Sinead Brick Hassen August 7, 2023 at 3:30 pm

Don't hike during extreme heat guys please be careful and mindful until the heat wave is gone.

Shelly Smith August 7, 2023 at 3:31 pm

CBS just loses so much credibility in news with these hyped climate exagerations

Sunim August 7, 2023 at 3:43 pm

Instead of real trees research and deploy some type of mechanical tree, like a large umbrella or sidewalk type canopy that can be deployed during the hottest summer days but retracted when not needed? They could even have the canopy made from a screen type of material so the air flow isn’t disrupted to much. Even consider adding solar cells to generate electricity sent to storage units for the raising and lowering of the canopy as well as power the street lights at night.

Current Conditions August 7, 2023 at 3:54 pm

Stupid test waste of time, just plant the trees as many as you can plant, regardless of whether the neighbor needs it or not, because eventually all neighbors are going to need it. Pay attention city dwellers… very important to plant trees in developing cities!

Why not put gardens on every building's roof?

Vera reiki August 7, 2023 at 8:24 pm

No one wanted to listen to the indigenous people, and they told the people to Take Care of the land and this is what happens. Then didn't as gods have been angry for a really long time😊 Anybody

In the second half of the century it's going to be like 130+. Then what?

Rebecca August 8, 2023 at 10:56 am

Close down all these theme parks across the USA. They use tons of electricity and water. It is far more important for humans to have AC in their homes, electricity, water, etc instead of being told to go sparingly? Theme parks use mega energy …..
