January 19th, 2023. I should’ve known something was wrong with the weather when I saw that the geese had returned north from their winter holiday already. Then I saw the clouds gathering and learned there was a thunderstorm coming to my area. Not a snowstorm, but a thunderstorm with warm, fluid water. Strong enough and “strange” enough that the National Weather Service thought to notify people.

I didn’t head home fast enough because I didn’t feel like ducking a little water. But it was more water and a lot more wind than I had anticipated. In January!
