Footage published on Friday showed a stream of icy water flooding the streets of Seregno in Lombardy hours after hail battered the area. The governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, declared a state of emergency on Thursday after more than 110 people were injured by extreme weather. Near-record temperatures are beginning to ease across Italy, but forecasters have warned a fourth heatwave could hit southern Europe next week.

Busted: The world is certainly getting hotter, but some unscrupulous journalists and others are now measuring and reporting ground surface temperatures in full sun, instead of measuring air temperatures in the shade, which is the scientific normal. And that is possibly being orchestrated by governments and others in order to create sensational headlines and to win more people over to supporting climate change policies. Support the environment and start to take appropriate acction, but stop supporting the big business main media liars and other confidence tricksters, and instead start supporting the independent online media outlets.

This is totally normal cyclical weather. (even if the cycles i refer to were before mankind and the rate of change has never been this fast even in previous extinction events)
Keep on being productive, consume and breed. We must make sure this doesn't interfere with GDP growth or profit margins.

The heat in southern Italy is not extreme, just very high, but it has been higher. In Greece it is extreme, 3 islands are on fire now, set by the heat. But in Northern Italy there is real extreme weather, hail sized upt to 4 inches diameterer whuiped out complete vacrtaion villages, mobile homes, tents and cars where destroyed, 110 people wounded and 6 people killed by hail … whenever does something like that happen? But I have read some American online newspapers that act as if Italy is a small country and everything happened everywhere, first the heat and than te hail …. pffff
The hail is in the North and over 1000 miles to the south of that, is the heat….

The argument to say that this is a perfectly normal cycle of the earth makes no sense. And I'm not far left I'm more of a centerist but I don't agree with*** oh it's a normal cycle so carry on and have children. It's still asinine and totally selfish at this point to bring somebody here because even if it's a cycle it was a cycle when the dinosaurs became extinct it was a cycle when many natural disasters happened in the earth in the past and it was still catastrophic and terrible why would you use a natural cycle as a justification to just not care about what's happening And bring children to suffer in this misery and then call people who don't want kids selfish????

If that continues there won't be any Europe and the whole planet will be doomed.

This happened in France last year. The effects of even a few minutes of these cannonball hail stones is devastating. And insurance companies are a dead loss – always trying to squirm out of not paying. Doubtless such weather will soon be classed as 'uninsurable' Over a year later and we are only now getting to the end of sorting out the problems – the roof has finally been repaired and my car has gone into the bodywork repair shop as I write to get the dents and knocks removed. My neighbours battle on with their roof still covered in tarpaulins. I would not wish this on anyone – it is a horrendous experience but one we are all going to experience more and more frequently. Bless you all in Italy – my heart goes out to you.

I was in Milan during the day of that tornado, I actually visited a day earlier than I planned because I anticipated tornadoes on that day. It ended up striking a few miles to my northwest of me and i didnt see it, but seeing the creepy green rotating supercell constantly flashing with lightning was still a pretty spooky experience

What is the opposite of Global Warming? What is the Opposite of Democratic Party? What is the Opposite of Progressive? What is the opposite of of freedom. Before Corona 19 Summers were hot in Italy and everyone just continued on with their lives enjoying summer.

Mariam Martinez October 3, 2023 at 7:42 pm

What had they, done last time? Might it, work again? More heaters on, electric heaters built into the roofs, deeper sewers?
